Glasses are a set of lenses fitted into frames that allow for fixed, enhanced, or altered sight.
Use
- The First Doctor carried a pair of opera glasses in his pocket, he utilised them to see his first glimpses of the Dalek City on Skaro. (DW: The Daleks) The Ninth Doctor owned a similar pair (DW: The Empty Child)
- The Master often utilised a pair of glasses as part of a disguise, such as his disguise as Reverend Magister whilst in Devil's End. (DW: The Dæmons)
- The Fifth Doctor typically wore a pair of glasses in times of great stress, especially following his regeneration (DW: Castrovalva)
- The Seventh Doctor utilised a pair of glasses to seemingly enhance his hypnotism ability. (DW: Silver Nemesis)
- The Tenth Doctor wore a pair of tortoise-shell rimmed square glasses, usually when he was concentrating on a particular object or subject. (DW: Tooth and Claw et al) He used a pair of 3D glasses when observing the effects of the Void and its effect on people and objects. (DW: Doomsday)
- It is interesting to note that in Time Crash the Tenth Doctor said that the Fifth Doctor did not need glasses, but wore them to make him look smarter.
