The Purpura Pawn was the second story in the Bernice Summerfield anthology A Life in Pieces. It was written by Paul Sutton.
Summary
Irving Braxiatel is invited to Earth by an old friend. Meanwhile, Bev Tarrant and Adrian Wall are on their way to Earth in order to obtain the Purpura Pawn. A criminal syndicate won't let them leave the planet alive.
