The women in the wood were two slave workers, captured by the Daleks during their invasion of Earth in the 22nd century. They made clothes for the miners who worked at the local mine which was mining away the rock so that the Daleks could pilot the planet as a ship. Barbara and Jenny came to their shack looking for shelter but the two women betrayed them and told the Daleks of their existence. (TV: "The Waking Ally")
