The Roar was a sound of interference and static that could be heard in every location that was intersected by the time-locus of a battle between a House Military unit and the enemy during the War in Heaven. The battle took place near Spancil's Hypothalamus but, due to the technologies involved, it also was in the western arm of galaxy M32, in orbit of Kaiwar, in the great Carcorthran Void, and "Behind You" (this being the final message of the last surviving House Military unit). The battle gained notoreity as one of the Five Famous Space Battles. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
