Simon Callow played Charles Dickens in the Doctor Who television stories The Unquiet Dead and The Wedding of River Song and voiced Tree Lorn Acre Slitheen-Blathereen in The Sarah Jane Adventures television story The Gift. He was also considered for the role of the Eighth Doctor in the Doctor Who television movie.[source needed]
