"We are the Blathereen"
The Blathereen to Sarah Jane Smith in The Gift
The Blathereen were a family of Raxacoricofallapatorians, eventually going into criminal activity. They were in competition with the Slitheen family, and had gained an advantage by 2500. Unlike their green coloured rivals, the Blathereen are orange.
History
The Blathereen were once a major family on Raxacoricofallapatorius, until the rise of Slitheen; sometime before then, an inter-clan marriage had taken place. They were generally benevolent and content with middle management, though the Slitheen-Blathereen offshoot considered them weak and feeble. (SJA: The Gift)
21st century
Followed the Slitheen's deposing, both the Blathereen and Slitheen-Blathereen began to hunt them down. (SJA: Revenge of the Slitheen, The Gift) At the same time, the two Slitheen-Blathereen (who looked down on both sides of their family) began running a con, offering modified Rack Weed to aliens to solve world hunger - the plant would then overrun the planet (killing the population), turning it into a profitable Weed farm. The pair were addicted to this plant.
In 2010, the Slitheen-Blathereen (posing as benevolent bounty hunters) captured two Slitheen on Earth. They carried out the Rack Weed con on Sarah Jane Smith, claiming it was reparation for the Slitheen's activity. Their plan was ruined after Clyde Langer, Rani Chander and K9 discovered the megahertz frequency that could kill the plant. The Slitheen-Blathereen were killed by the same frequency, which destroyed the Weed in their stomachs and caused a destructive methane gas buildup. (SJA: The Gift)
25th century
By 2501, some or all of the Blathereen had become a criminal family. They were controlled by Don Arco, an obese Raxacoricofallapatorian, and there were enough criminal Blathereen to replace most of the government of Justicia.
They had been trying to create a massive warp-hole to move the entire Justicia system. The plan was to warp Justicia into other solar systems. With the compression technology used in their disguises, they planned to use Justicia's sun as a massive flamethrower. They would destroy planets and use the remains as nuclear fuel (using a similar plan as the Slitheen family used in 2006, but on a larger scale). The prisoners already in Justicia would be used to process the fuel. They were defeated by the remaining Slitheen and the Doctor. (NSA: The Monsters Inside)

Technology
The Blathereen had advanced technology, far beyond the Slitheen. One early device was a wrist device, which worked both as a teleporter and a laser weapon. (SJA: The Gift)
Behind the Scenes
The Blathereen were first introduced in The Monsters Inside and then later used in a TV series: this is the first time this has happened in the Doctor Who franchise.
