The Führerbunker was an underground shelter built beneath the Reichschancellery in Berlin for Adolf Hitler.
He committed suicide there on 30 April 1945. It was generally thought that Eva Braun died with him there, but she was actually smuggled out of Berlin, pregnant with Hitler's child. The body that was found in the bunker was that of Claire Aldwych, who Martin Bormann had killed and burned to conceal Braun's survival. (PROSE: The Shadow in the Glass)
