Corporal John Sykes was a British soldier during World War I in the 15th West Yorkshire unit. After being injured and suffering from shell-shock, he was sent back to England to recuperate at Hawkswick Hall. He and fellow patient Joey Collins were murdered while investigating Dr Charles Banham's secret nightly activities. (PROSE: Casualties of War)
