The Argyre Dam was a barrier on Mars designed to hold back the southern sea waters that filled the Argyre Crater. It was named for the extinct Argyre clan, who were all killed in the same nuclear strike that created the crater in 1997. (PROSE: The Dying Days, Beige Planet Mars)
