An old man and his companion were offworlders involved in repelling the Dalek invasion of Mars. They downed a flying saucer at Argyre Dam and helped with coordinating the final attack. - The old man is the 42nd incarnation of the Doctor co-created by Lance Parkin and Mark Clapham[1] for the Odyssey series of fan novellas.[2] His appearance was based on Ian Richardson.
- He had previously been planned to appear in the epilogue of The Dying Days [+]Loading...["The Dying Days (novel)"] alongside his wife Iphegenia; that short story would have explained his involvement in the Final Dalek War.[1][2]
- This Doctor and Iphegenia also appeared in Clapham's short story Wheel [+]Loading...["Wheel (short story)"] from the 2003 fanzine Myth Makers Presents: Essentials.[3]
