The sonic chamber was an area of the Dalek City. When the Daleks of section 2 fell ill after taking anti-radiation drugs, they were brought to the sonic chamber. Meanwhile, the air which was polluted by radiation was directed away from the nuclear reactors into the sonic chamber.
