"The Whisper Men" was a traditional rhyme thought to originate in Victorian London. (PROSE: The Secret Lives of Monsters) Clarence DeMarco recited the poem to Madame Vastra when she visited his prison cell in 1893.
- Do you hear the Whisper Men?
- The Whisper Men are near.
- If you hear the Whisper Men
- then turn away your ear.
- Do not hear the Whisper Men,
- whatever else you do.
- For once you've heard the Whisper men,
- they'll stop and look at you.
