Professor Stuart Mallory was a naturalist. His wife was named Emma.

He wrote many books and papers, and did work with albatrosses. He wrote several books on Antarctica.

He was very lonely after Emma died of cancer. When he met the Second Doctor, Jamie McCrimmon and Victoria Waterfield, he took a liking to them and invited them home for tea. He explained to them how the emperor penguin was nearly extinct. He hoped there was at least one left.

Soon afterwards, he received an invitation to travel to Antarctica. A woman named Ace took him there in a very advanced aeroplane. When he arrived, a woman named Benny helped dress him in body armour.

When he stepped outside the tent, he encountered the last emperor penguin. The shock of seeing it killed him. (PROSE: The Last Emperor [+]Loading...["The Last Emperor (short story)"])
