Albatrosses were large birds found in the Pacific Ocean on Earth. They resembled large seagulls. In 1770, Ian Chesterton and Joseph Banks spotted an albatross while aboard the Endeavour, the latter of whom shot it down to take it as a specimen, despite Ian's attempts to dissuade him.
