According to John Dorney, who adapted the scripts of The Foe from the Future for audio, the only female character in the original draft was Leela. When it was adapted for The Lost Stories, Gelfo was cast as female, played by Jaimi Barbakoff, although there was otherwise no fundamental change to the character.
