In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, a Doctor Who fan once phoned UNIT in the 1970s from her bedroom.

Biography

After she finished watching an episode of Doctor Who, the fan rang up UNIT in the 1970s, where she was put on hold by an operator. After a while of waiting, she was put on the line with the Third Doctor, Jo, and the Brigadier. She asked for help with COVID-19, as UNIT in her native time had been suspended, and the trio give her all the advice they can: to remain positive, in spite of all the awful things going on. After they disconnect, Terrance Dicks applauded the trio, and he told the fan that a tea break was deserved. Terrance then disconnected, and the fan drank a cup of tea, dunking Jammie Dodgers inside, while tuning into another episode of Doctor Who. (WC: U.N.I.T. On Call)
