For that matter, can we really be certain the exact date is 1 January? Unless I'm forgetting or not noticing some other bit of evidence, the only indication of it being the new year is Graham wishing Yaz a "Happy New Year". That doesn't necessarily mean it ''is'' currently New Years Day; maybe Ryan and Graham hadn't gotten around to visiting Yaz until the day after, or a few days later? I believe people still say "Happy New Year" to others that they may not have gotten to see during the occasion. At the very least, I'd have put a "circa" in front of the date. :: Yaz actually asks "when was it New Year?" implying New Year has arrived and gone and she was working and completely missed it - it certainly places the episode ''after'' New Years. |

Re: Davros etc
Do we really need a source for a fan rumor when these things get spread on social media so much these days? I can find one, but one single source might seem like a mountain out of a molehill kind of thing. Najawin ☎ 22:22, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- That rumour doesn't sound even remotely serious, if you ask me. WaltK ☎ 23:00, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- Pretty sure it was a NMD rumor promoted by some really, uh, creepy people. But it existed and wasn't a meme rumor from what I recall. Najawin ☎ 23:06, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- And I mean, at the end of the day, Myths are only noteworthy if they gain some form of notoriety within the fandom/internet before an episode airs. If a single user post a theory and barely anyone else sees/shares it, then Myths would consist of thousands and thousands of random entries. One could say that they think a Dalek-Cyberman-Sontaran-Pting-War would happen and then the Coal Hill defenders would come to assist the Fam stop it, but that doesn't mean it should feasibly be an entry.

- As I see it, it's less about proving the Myth existed, and more proving why we should care about covering it. OncomingStorm12th ☎ 23:07, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- Sure. I definitely saw a lot about it. But it's hard to really document how notable a rumor is unless an external source covers it. There's a DAVIS video that references it, for instance, but it's not like that's looking in on the fandom from outside, so that's hardly a help. Hence why I don't think a single source is exactly helpful unless it's from a very mainstream website. Najawin ☎ 23:11, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
Dating
Okay, just going back and forth on this over edit summaries will take us nowhere. Let's try going for a discussion on the talk page instead.
- The events of Resolution are firmly set on 1 January 2019. Dalek reaches surface, the Fam defeats it and blah blah blah.
- Then, around 6 hours later (as shown in Revolution) it's casing gets transported and stolen. Jack and Jo arrange for the production of a Defence Drone. The Drone is produced and tested on a protest, after which Jo asks for more Drones to be produced (and Jack gives a timeframe of 1 year for them to be produced).
- Yes, the Doctor may have aimed to take the fam to 2020, but we all know how reliable the Doctor is with flying TARDISes (I mean, on this very episode, she arrived 10 months late, and she wasn't in a hurry, unlike she was back when she programmed the TARDIS back in Timeless Children).
Well, anyway, all that said, unless I am missing something here, the story is intended to take place in 2020, not 2021. OncomingStorm12th ☎ 23:07, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- Actually, forget a bit of what I said above, the Drone being built and tested in a single day isn't really feasible. It's much more likely that the testing is around late 2019, and then the main plot of Revolution is during 2021 itself. OncomingStorm12th ☎ 23:27, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
- The possibility of the Doctor accidentally sending them back to 2019 rather than 2020 at the end of TTC is simply not feasible because it would be an absolute disaster for their timelines. There’s no way the Fam would be able to continue their normal lives in Sheffield without clashing with their past selves, or confusing the hell out of their family and friends.
