Summary
Agent Simon Bucks of the Universal Secret Service writes in to USS HQ from Bickley in Kent. He attaches a photograph taken in Scottish town of Lairg, suspecting the subject of the image of being some form of Dalek, an advance guard heralding an imminent full-scale invasion. USS action-group operators are already on their way to Lairg to investigate with clear orders to destroy any threat to Earth.
Characters
References
- The Daleks are described by the Universal Secret Service as "metal invaders from Skaro".
Story notes
- This story is the first to tangibly foreshadow the planned invasion of Earth, announced by the Dalek Emperor in the closing panel of The Road to Conflict, the final TV 21 instalment of The Daleks. When Have Daleks Invaded Scotland? was published, TV Century 21 was releasing the penultimate story in the series, The Emissaries of Jevo.
Continuity
- A special variant of Dalek is sent to Earth to "spy out the land" in preparation for a full invasion. (TV: Resolution, Revolution of the Daleks)
