Meteor shower

Madame Vastra, in an attempt to pique the Eleventh Doctor out of his retirement in London 1892, reported a meteor shower in the southwest with unexpected timing and density suggesting possible alien intervention. (TV: The Great Detective)

On 9 February 1913 the Great Meteor Procession occurred in the skies above Earth. One source identified this as being the result of either a small, short-lived moon breaking up in the Earth's atmosphere, or a failed alien invasion. (PROSE: Time Traveller's Diary)

Following the Doctor's supposed death in 2011, Amy Pond heard of a freak meteor shower two miles away from her residence and so got a bottle to share with River Song. (TV: The Wedding of River Song)
