Lord Palmerdale, on his boat, crashed into Fang Rock with his secratary Adelaide Lessage, his captain, Captain Harker and his friend/blackmailer James Skinsale. He was a snobby and arrogant man who tried to make it to Bristol, in the terrible fog. After being rescued by Vince Hawkins, they went to the lighthouse to warm up and settle for the night, but there plans where ruined when the Doctor revealed that Engineer Ben had died that very night, before they came and that the lighthouse was under attack by a Rutan. Lord Palmerdale was desparate to get to Bristol, so he looked around the lighthouse to see if there where any communication devices and surely enough he found one. After trying to use it himself, he failed penultimatly, so he bribed Vince Hawkins to power it so he could communicate them and land. But when Palmerdale stood on the outside of the lighthouse he was electrocuted and thrown off the lighthouse by the Rutan. (DW: Horror of Fang Rock)
