An unnamed RAF pilot was dispatched to intercept a Chameleon Tours airliner before it left radar range of Gatwick Airport on 20 July 1966.
Biography
When the pilot approached the airliner, an energy beam was suddenly fired directly into the fighter plane's cockpit. The plane plummeted to the Earth and crashed.
When the plane's wreckage was recovered and searched, it was discovered that the pilot had died of electrocution — in a similar manner to Inspector Gascoigne. (TV: The Faceless Ones)
