Mrs Croot was an old woman who knew Jackie and Rose Tyler. Elton Pope asked her where Rose lived and she told him number 48 of Bucknall House at the Powell Estate. She remarked that they were a nice family but a "bit odd". (TV: Love & Monsters)

Behind the scenes

Mrs Croot was to have made a second appearance in the episode The Runaway Bride but her scene ended up on the cutting room floor. In the sequence, the Doctor and Donna Noble used a bus to travel to Donna's wedding reception, on which they encountered Mrs Croot. Actor David Tennant and executive producer Julie Gardner expressed their sadness about the scene being cut during their audio commentary for The Runaway Bride.
