An unnamed RAF pilot was dispatched to intercept a Chameleon Tours airliner before it left radar range of Gatwick Airport on 20 July 1966.

Biography[[edit]]

When the pilot approached the airliner, an energy beam was suddenly fired directly into the RAF fighter plane's cockpit. The plane plummeted to the Earth and crashed.
