Bill and Ted

Bill and Ted was a film which Deborah Castle took the Eighth Doctor to see (PROSE: Father Time) by the year 1989. (PROSE: Trading Futures) The Doctor was inspired by the "flying telephone box" in the film, wishing that he could have one of his own. (PROSE: Father Time)

Behind the scenes

The Third Doctor and Rufus
  • The full title of the Bill and Ted film the referred to in Father Time is Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.
  • In Cracked issue 253, the parody strip "Bull & Tad's Excrement Adventure" features the Third Doctor confronting Rufus by saying "You'll be hearing from my lawyers!" The panel was reprinted in DWM 181.
  • One 2015 issue of the comic series Bill and Ted's Most Triumphant Return mentions that extraterrestrials copied Bill and Ted's time machine, "albeit with British phone booths" that they "found a way to make bigger on the inside".[1]
