Donald Riegle

A man stood alongside US President Bill Clinton and Rosa Parks as the latter received the Congressional Medal, the highest civilian honour in the United States, in 1999. (TV: Rosa [+]Loading...["Rosa (TV story)"])

Behind the scenes

Although unnamed in the episode, the man is Donald Riegle, former US Senator from Michigan. The footage used in the episode is actually from a Clinton campaign rally in 1992, at which Riegle spoke.[1] In the real world, Riegle retired from the Senate in 1995, four years prior to Rosa Parks being awarded the Congressional Gold Medal.
