Paisley (design)

Paisley was a design involving tear themed symbols, invented on ancient Persia and named after a Scottish town.[source needed]

The Seventh Doctor wore scarves and ties as well as bands on his cream Panama hat of paisley, done on scarlet (TV: Time and the Rani-The Greatest Show in the Galaxy) or burgundy. (TV: Battlefield-Survival) He also wore a paisley banded white fedora (PROSE: White Darkness) that he had had made especially for him. (PROSE: First Frontier)

The Eighth Doctor wore some double breasted waistcoats of paisley-brocade with a gold fob watch; one in silver grey, (TV: Doctor Who) one in violet purple, (COMIC: Dreadnought) one in cream, (COMIC: Ophidius) one in ochre yellow, (AUDIO: The Stones of Venice) one in bracken green, (AUDIO: Caerdroia) and one in burnt orange. (AUDIO: The Devouring), Soon, he wore single-breasted waistcoats of paisley-brocade done in wine purple, (AUDIO: He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not,) plain vermillion, (AUDIO: Meanwhile, Elsewhere-Previously, Next Time) or bronze brown. (TV: The Night of the Doctor) His war successor wore the bronze one for some time. (TV: The Night of the Doctor; AUDIO: Light the Flame; WC: Doctors Assemble)

Rose Noble wore an ebony black paisley skirt when she met the Fourteenth Doctor, Beep the Meep, and some Wrarth Warriors. (TV: The Star Beast)

Melanie Bush wore a crimson bandana scarf with ivory paisley symbols. (TV: Delta and the Bannermen)

Captain Cook, the intergalactic explorer, wore an ascot tie of burgundy and beige paisley. (TV: The Greatest Show in the Galaxy)

The Monk wore a paisley scarf for a belt. (PROSE: The Persistence of Memory)

Bonnie wore a crimson paisley scarf similar to the Seventh Doctor's when taking Osgood's form. (TV: The Zygon Inversion)

The Curator, a future version of the Doctor, wore an ascot tie of navy and crimson paisley under his tattersall shirt's collar and a paisley handkerchief in the left breast pocket upon his blazer of olive green herringbone-tweed when taking the form of an older Fourth Doctor. (TV: The Day of the Doctor)
