Doctor Who connections
A character named "Cliff Finch", played by Tim Treloar, appears as a taxi driver. A similarly-named "Clive Finch" appeared in Rose [+]Loading...["Rose (TV story)"].
A character named "Mr Van Statten", played by Gary Richards, appears as the owner of a real estate company. A similarly-named "Henry van Statten" appeared in Dalek [+]Loading...["Dalek (TV story)"].
Gareth David-Lloyd plays a character named "Yanto Jones", an openly gay teenage resident of Swansea who is seen in a single scene in the series' final episode as a boy that Leo Vivaldi tries to ask out but cannot bring himself to. David-Lloyd later starred in Torchwood as "Ianto Jones", a character who initially presented as straight but discovered a homoromantic side of himself over the course of the series.
"Zoe Costello", a minor character played by Julie Ann-Dean, explains that she is named after the Doctor Who character. Davies later used the surname "Costello" for Suzie Costello in Torchwood.
The Torchwood: Miracle Day episode End of the Road [+]Loading...["End of the Road (TV story)"] mentions the events of Mine All Mine and indicates the series to take place in the same world as Torchwood. When Esther Drummond, Charlotte Wills, and Rex Matheson are searching through historical documents to trace the lineages of the the Three Families through various surnames, Esther says, "Hey, remember the Vivaldi inheritance in 2004? Follow that same pathway, because it worked in the end."
