Template:Infobox Organization The Time Agency was a group apparently based in the 51st century and employing Human Time Agents. It was unknown how long it existed, but it was shut down sometime in the 52nd century. The Agents utilized wrist straps which enabled them to travel through time to go on missions of an unspecified nature.

Jack Harkness was a member of the Time Agency from the Boeshane Peninsula, a matter of great pride to the other citizens of the Peninsula. (DW: Last of the Time Lords). As an Agent, he worked with John Hart, also known as "Captain John". (TW: Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) After the Agency wiped two years of his memory for unknown reasons, he decided to leave the Agency and strike out on his own as a con man and freebooter. (DW: The Doctor Dances)

By the time Hart caught up with Jack again, Hart stated that the Agency had only seven Agents left and had subsequently been disbanded. (TW: Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang).

In 5145, River Song acquires a vortex manipulator at a black market which is "fresh off the wrist of a handsome new Time Agent", showing that the Agency existed (and was acquiring new agents) into the 52nd century; the wrist-strap was presented on the wrist, implying a fresh kill. (DW: The Pandorica Opens)

Behind the Scenes

  • There is some speculation that River Song may be a Time Agent as she is from the 51st century and a time traveler. She was seen to be from the 51st century in both of her appearances so far, and in her next appearance, has an advanced technological gun and refers to Earth as if she is not from it' (by this time, humans have spread to different planets), further confirming that the 51st century is indeed her time period.
