The Faction Paradox series were originally a series of audio dramas about Faction Paradox, an organization officially introduced by Lawrence Miles in the Doctor Who novel EDA: Alien Bodies. It is one of several long-running spin-offs based upon characters created for Doctor Who novels; others include Bernice Summerfield and Time Hunter.

Produced initially by BBV Productions, these were then followed by audio dramas produced by Magic Bullet Productions, the first being Coming to Dust.

Then followed by a series of novels published from 2002 to 2006 by Mad Norwegian Press with Random Static Ltd taking over with Newtons Sleep.

There were also two issues of a Faction Paradox comic released by Image Comics; the comic was cancelled abruptly mid-story due to poor sales.

Starting in 2011, Obverse Books intend releasing collections of short stories featuring Faction Paradox. The first such collection is entitled Faction Paradox: A Romance in Twelve Parts.
