Introducing Wikia's new look:
Greetings! As many of you have already seen, Wikia is undergoing some major changes to their site layout. As of Wednesday, October 6th, the change will affect both the appearance and how things are done on several wikis, and come October 20th these changes will effect all Wikia sites. These changes are mandatory as this is not simply a new skin option, it’s actually an upgraded version of the core Mediawiki platform itself. Check out "Experience the new Wikia" for a look at some wikis using the new look, FAQ and the Transition guide.
Transitioning to the New Look
We know you’ve put a lot of work into making your wikis look great in Monaco, so we’ve worked on our end to minimize the amount of effort needed for you to move to the new look. Still, there are some things you’ll want to do in order for your wiki to look its best in the new skin. We strongly encourage you to use our Wiki Transition Guide to make this process as smooth and seamless as possible.
Our new theme designer tool will be available to everyone during the first stage of sitewide roll-out on October 6th. This gives you time to experiment with different themes and chat with your community about what looks best before all visitors see your wiki in the new look.
We know that many of you are Wikia experts, and have a ton of experience to share with newer users, who may need more help with the transition. To tap all your knowledge, we will soon be setting up a page where users can request and provide help on the transition.
Timeline
The next step is to slowly but surely move all wikis over to the new skin. While there may be some tweaks, the projected schedule is below so that you know what to expect over the coming weeks.

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: transparent;"|
*The new look will continue to be default for logged-out users on the beta wikis
*All logged in users will be able to “switch on” the new look for themselves on any wiki they visit.
*All new wikis created will automatically use the new look.
*Every wiki in the Wikia Lifestyle Hub will showcase the new look.

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: transparent;"|
*All users will see the new look on every wiki.
*Logged in users will have the temporary option of viewing and editing wikis in Monaco.

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: transparent;"|
*The option to use Monaco will be removed.
Discontinued features
*The widget dashboard and all widgets are to be discontinued as they were deemed to be underused.
*"Report a Problem" links will also be discontinued with the new skin as they were not used as intended.
*"Email a user" link is gone.
*Page ratings are gone.
New features
*New, customizable toolbar that is anchored at the bottom of the screen (Watch the demo video to see how it  works.) You will need to learn to use this. (requires JavaScript)
*New tool for customizing the colour scheme/theme, including default themes.
Other changes
*The new look uses a fixed width layout, we are not permitted to change, which might influence the layout of articles quite a bit.
*Wiki logo is replaced with "Wordmark", which admins can customize by adjusting the text & color, or by uploading an image in the theme designer.
*Site notice is no longer on every page. It is now located in the Community Corner and users will receive a notification bubble each time it is updated.
*The wiki navigation that is now on the left sidebar, is moving to the top of the screen. It will have 4 drop down menus, with 7 links each. This is substantially less than we currently have. (requires JavaScript)
*"My Home" becomes "Wiki Activity" and contains a link to recent changes
*There is a new sidebar area on the right that takes about 1/3 of each page's width, where the recent activity and other "modules" will sit. More "modules" are being developed for it, but there are currently no plans for user-developed modules.
*Moved the most recent editor’s name from the bottom of the page to the top, added an avatar, and a new mini-history dropdown menu, which contains the link to the full history. (Supposed to make it more obvious to new users that anyone can edit a wiki.) (requires JavaScript)
*Two of the categories are listed at top as well the full list at the bottom. Apparently the two chosen will be the categories containing the most pages. There is a blacklist to keep out typical maintenance categories, but it is not wiki specific (atm).
*Edit and talk buttons will be used instead of written links.
*The name of the user who uploaded a picture will be listed underneath the image caption on articles.
*The "Terms of Use" are changed so that we will only have very limited options on what we may change on the new layout that is visible to all users.
Terms of Use
In keeping with the goals of the new look, our Terms of Use have been updated as well. Admins will no longer be able to completely remove core features for all users by using custom CSS or JavaScript. This is to protect the universal layout and functionality of every wiki on Wikia and ensure that users have access to all of the features available in the new design. Remember, these new terms only apply to the CSS of the wiki as a whole -- they don’t apply to your personal pages.
To give a few practical examples of what this means: It’s not permitted to remove the right sidebar modules, blogs, and image attribution or add a banner that shifts the entire content area down the page, or alter the fixed width. You can still personalize your wiki with different colors and themes, add large, standout images to the wiki background, create styled templates and tables within the content area. There are plenty of ways to be creative! While these terms will limit what you can do to the overall layout, creativity is still an essential part of Wikia.

 • Hi,
Just wanted to say that I thought your Chula article was great. Nothing wrong as far as I can see.
--Mantrid 06:00, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
I agree. Excellent job!

About your userpage

"Well, I can't think of any other ways to pad this out." You can always brag by adding a list of the articles you created. :) Anyway, on another completely non-related point, it might just help if you vote for featured article noms on Talk:Main Page, seeming as so far nobody else has. ~ Ghelæ -talk-contribs 20:50, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey, I did mention how I liked the dinosaur page.

Hi

Hello Azes13, I know I haven’t been here long but I would like to make a valuable contribution to Tardis, I was wondering if you would think I would make any good as an Admin. Joker1138(The Hub) File:Daleknew.jpg

Well, if you want, I suppose you could be an Admin. Personally, I haven't found much of a difference between being an admin and regular accounts. Azes13 20:02, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, How do i become one? Joker1138(The Hub) File:Daleknew.jpg
Give me a while to work it out... Azes13 20:12, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Thank you Azes13 :-) Joker1138(The Hub) File:Daleknew.jpg

Dalek Hierarchy

What's the Dalek Hierarchy?--Si 20:20, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Human Time Lords

To prevent Sichamousacoricothingmabob asking this question sans capitales (or something like that, I'm not that good à français) and with every third word tpyoesd, I'll ask it myself: Would you, Azes the Thirteenth, like to join the Human Time Lord Order? (note: you do not have to be a Human to join the order, although it helps) ~ Ghelæ -talk-contribs 17:47, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Naw, man. Sovereign Earth Reptile Empire all the way! Actually, that seems like an nifty idea. Maybe I better get some stuff for that...
Also, can't help you with the French stuff. Sorry! Azes13 19:13, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Euh, ça va. Mais tu te rends comte de les noveaux seigneurs du temps sont pas-pas-d'interventionist?
Or something like that... not that you'd understand it to see where I was inevitably wrong... and for the record, there's already a strong Earth Reptile Empire anyway. A bit slow off the mark there. Some 65 million years too slow... ~ Ghelæ -talk-contribs 19:46, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Schwa? Something about intervention? Man, I should have paid more attention in French class.
Also, there was a strong Time Lord empire too. Not sure how far off the mark you are, what with them ceasing to exist... Azes13 20:24, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Good point... I think... ~ Ghelæ -talk-contribs 20:57, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Enh, it's good enough. I'll get back to you if I can think of a better come-back. Azes13 21:07, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks... AH! I've just worked out what you were on about! *realises he shouldn't sound so exited* Well, the idea of the Human Time Lords is to remake the Time Lords, so once the training's done they will exist again! (I think that's what you were on about) Na-na-na-na-na-na! *realises he shouldn't act so childish, and how much like a police car he sounded when doing that* Erm... yeah, that's it... I think... erm... oh yeah, what about schwas? ~ Ghelæ -talk-contribs 15:53, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
Well, the idea of SERE is to remake the Silurian Empire, so once the training's done they will rule again. The Human Time Lords replaces the Time Lords (who are dead), while SERE replaces the Earth Reptiles (who just fail at conquering and become a token minority for Earth Empires). Therefore, both organizations are equally valid based on the idea of replacing major powers with a new one.
Yeah, that's right, you got OWNED!
Also, schwa means "I should know what you just said, but I don't". Azes13 20:18, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm... I see... sorta... ~ Ghelæ -talk-contribs 16:06, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
Good enough for me! Azes13 20:04, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Your work

I think you are great! I've edited just a few, normally 4th Doctor, but I couldn't do better than you!

Chula Page

I think the work on Chula is great. It's my favourite episode out of the 9th AND 10th, so I'm proud when I see some helpful info. I can safely say you are a real helper on TARDIS Index File!

Regeneration Page

Hi Azes, Thanks for correcting the tense in my edit of the Regeneration page, I hadn't realised in universe articles were supposed to be in the past tense (ooops). I notice that you've also removed some content that I added to the page and also some older content. I'm somewhat new at this and am unclear as to why you've done that, as it seems relevant to me? Could you give me an indication of why you have made that change so that I can put the information where it should be or know why it shouldn't be included.

Regards Grabthar 04:43, 9 June 2008 (GMT)

Let's see: I added back the bit about growing back a hand because the sentence was unfinished, I changed the section on the Master only because I was working with an older copy which didn't have that format, the part about the Doctor trial seemed to fit better with the section on control, I removed the section about the control of Romana and the Doctor because it's best not to speculate on matters in the main text and I removed the part about the Master stopping his regeneration because it had been said before and it wasn't about an aborted regeneration.
I think that's everything. Any other questions? -<Azes13 14:02, 9 June 2008 (UTC)>-
Thanks. It was the part containing the conjecture that I was most interested in, you see I had expanded a pre-exsisting point of conjecture that was already on the page; as I'm new to this wiki I didn't know what the policy on that sort of thing is so I just followed the pattern of what was already in the article. You say "it's best not to speculate on matters in the main text" does this mean there is a place where speculation, such as the one removed, should be included? I was trying to get the atrticle to read in such a way as it highlights that, whilst there is a lot of source information on the subject, that clear conclusions can't be drawn.

Thanks again.

Grabthar 14:40, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
The speculation should be put under the paragraph in italics, like the section on how regeneration may be given to non-Time Lords. _<Azes13 19:03, 9 June 2008 (UTC)>-

Absent Admins

I'm sending this out to all the currently active Admins here, with regards to this Forum posting Forum:Absent Admins.

It's the suggestion that all the admins who have not been active in the last two years have their admin user rights dropped.

This is the list of users to be dropped back from admins.

User:Freethinker1of1 was also on the list, though as he started this wiki I think that would be a bit of a kick in the teeth.

Please put your thoughts on the forum or get back to me with opinions or what we should do etc, thanks. (Also if you think I've missed any active admins can you send this message onwards to them also, I've sent this to User:Doug86, User:Ghelæ, User:GingerM). --Tangerineduel 15:42, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Mod abuse

You banned '82.28.241.19' for 3 months yet according to this Wiki's policy on bans due to Vandalism, only a ban of length maximum 5 days may be implemented. I suggest you read your Wiki's policy on banning if you are unaware. I hope this was not intentional mod abuse.

http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Tardis:Vandalism_and_Unhelpful_Content_Policy

I hope you are enjoying undoing all my articles. You think you've got me this time but you're wrong. I will aquire more IPs, more and more. Welcome to my new empire. No one is safe. Not even Bedfordshire. Its busses will soon be running late.

Hey there! I'm Scott from Wikia Entertainment. I just wanted to stop by and say hi; see how things are going here. Are there any big projects that the community is working on right now? God

Hello. I write regarding your comment on the God entry. You say:

That doesn't seem to be right. I can remember at least two references to Doctor being more agnostic than plain atheist and I can't remember any references to god in Castrovalva, Everything Changes or They Keep Killing Suzie. The fact that it's out of universe doesn't really help its case. I'm just going to remove it. -<Azes13 22:47, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Can you tell me where these references to the Doctor's agnosticism might be? How confident to you feel about the claim that the Doctor is more agnostic than atheist?

Thanks!

No, I can't remember that. I wrote that months ago and I've long since forgotten what the references were. If I was to hazard a guess, I think it might have been in Placebo Effect, St Anthony's Fire or maybe The Pit. -<Azes13 14:26, September 8, 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia

I took the text from Wikipedia, I thought that was ok, seeing as their are quite a few entries saying 'This article features text originating on Wikipedia'I'm A Hydroponic Tomato! Bigredrabbit 21:12, November 11, 2009 (UTC)

I find that very hard to believe, considering I can find none of your pages on Wikipedia and I can find them on The Bumper Book of Doctor Who Monsters, Villains and Alien Species with near identical text and the same images. Even if you did take the information from Wikipedia, you still needed to add the Template:Wikipedia tag. -<Azes13 22:56, November 11, 2009 (UTC)

Mighty 200

Hey, don't suppose you can wade into the discussion on the The mighty 200 talk page? I'm just having a somewhat hard time re-iterating my point given the interesting method of argument on the talk page. Thanks. --Tangerineduel 12:02, December 9, 2009 (UTC)

New main page

There's a discussion in the forum concerning a new main page could you take a look in, I've just reverted its addition to the main page as I feel there should be a full discussion (with admin input) before it goes live on the main page. Forum:New Home Page?. Thanks. --Tangerineduel 02:32, January 3, 2010 (UTC)

Myloki page

Did I commit some faux pa when I wrote that page? because I'm rather new at this, but the edit that was done is rather ... dull to be honest. Should I write them more "just the facts" in the future?Bumbles the Time Lord 23:03, February 3, 2010 (UTC)Bumbles the Time Lord

Well, this website is an encyclopedia. There's no need to be sensational when writing the articles. Just try to stick to the facts. -<Azes13 00:59, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

Cross-Wiki Promotion

Hi, True Blood wiki is having a big Season 3 Premiere Giveaway! Would you be okay with us putting up a short term ad on the homepage here, or possibly doing a blog post? We'd like to make sure as many people as possible know about the event. Check it out here:http://trueblood.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Kacieh/True_Blood_Giveaway and let me know what you think. Thanks in advance for any help you can give!-- Kacie<staff /> (talk) 00:06, May 12, 2010 (UTC)

Not sure what the point of that was.

Hi, mind if I ask why you reverted those changes in the Weeping Angel article? If you don't understand why using a template for repetitive tasks is preferable I'll gladly explain it to you. —ff 14:39, May 24, 2010 (UTC)

It just makes the page look weirder and less consistant. Anyway, it's hardly that repetitive. I don't see why you can't just copy/paste the citations the regular way. -<Azes13 17:13, May 24, 2010 (UTC)
Actually, I created the template to make the pages look more consistent. Since the template will always produce the same markup, how does it make pages look less consistent? Copy and pasting stuff is the source of many errors and doesn't allow to change the appearance later, for example by introducing a non-breaking space between the prefix and the title. —ff 07:21, May 25, 2010 (UTC)

Assistance with a discussion on forum

Hi, I'd value your input/discussion on this topic in the forums Forum:Italics or Quotation marks?, I'm not comfortable making a ruling solely based on a running conversation between myself and CzechOut and would value other admin's points of view. Thanks. --Tangerineduel 06:07, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

Ok...I'll be revisiting the pages anyway.The Librarian 00:16, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

BTW would you recommend a comic story character category or advise I leave it uncategorised? The Librarian 00:22, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
"Comic story character" seems too out-of-universe. There's plenty of in-universe categories and sub-categories; you should be able to find suitable ones. -<Azes13 00:38, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
