This article needs a big cleanup.
It's unclear what's wrong with the article, because the editor who placed this tag here didn't enumerate the page's problems.
These problems might be so great that the article's factual accuracy has been compromised. Talk about it here or check the revision history or Manual of Style for more information.
A force field is an item of defensive technology used to protect an object person, or area. They are mostly employed to deflect outward forces, but can also be used to keep things in, such as oxygen, or heat.

- The Doctor's TARDIS had a force field generator. The Doctor's recorder was protected from being converted into antimatter, because it was inside of the forcefield generator. The Doctors gave the recorder to Omega, causing his antimatter world to be destroyed, along with the TARDIS's force field generator. The Doctor decided to remain on Earth until the force field generator was rebuilt, even though the Time Lords had lifted his exile on Earth.(DW: The Three Doctors) By the Doctor's ninth incarnation, he no longer had a forcefield generator, and instead used a tribophysical waveform macrokinetic extrapolator.(DW: The Parting of the Ways)
- Platform One was protected by a force-field so that no damage would come to the station when the Earth exploded. (DW: The End of the World)
- The Judoon surrounded the Royal Hope Hospital with an air tight force-shield when it took the building to the moon. (DW: Smith and Jones)
- Daleks are surrounded by a forcefield that melts bullets on contact. (DW: Dalek)
- The sanctury base on Krop Tor was protected by a force-shield to keep it safe from the vacuum outside. (DW: The Impossible Planet)
- Margaret Blaine stole a tribophysical waveform macrokinetic extrapolator that could generate a shield powerful enough to protect her from a nuclear melt-down. (DW: Boom Town)
- This device was later installed into the TARDIS and then later into Satellite Five to protect from the Daleks. (DW: Parting of the Ways)
- Dalek prison cells used force-field technology to hold their captives. (DW: Journey's End)
- Modern ships such as the S.S. Pentallian, the Starship Titanic and the Dalek Mothership had force-shields. (DW: 42)
- Torchwood Three owned a portable prison cell that could generate a funnel of energy around its captive. (TW: Day One)
- Mr Smith could use a containment vortex to that could generate a funnel of energy around its captive, it could also drain energy from any devices they might have. (SJA: Enemy of the Bane)
- Cessair of Diplos was capable of creating a static electric force field. (DW: The Stones of Blood)
- Members of Cell 114 were protected by a forcefield that was 1 nanometer thick. (TW: Sleeper)
