Lute was a member of the Forest of Cheem. He was one of the guests on Platform One, accompanying Jabe to witness the Sun expanding and destroying the Earth. He and his friend Coffa were obviously distraught when the Doctor made them aware of Jabe's fate. (DW: The End of the World)
When the Doctor and Rose Tyler revisited Coffa and Lute, they informed him that survivors of Platform One had begun disappearing.
