Ben Daheer was a clothing merchant in Jaffa during the Crusades. An unscrupulous man, he bought stolen clothing from Thatcher. The First Doctor took the stolen clothes for himself, and when Daheer later accused him of theft, the Doctor got him to admit that he had purchased the stolen clothes, thus forcing him to implicate Thatcher. (DW: The Crusade)

The First Doctor later thought he looked very like a greenhouse-owner in 1960s Liverpool. (DW: The Daleks' Master Plan)
