- 1918 - Peter Tuddenham was born.
- 1935 - Verity Lambert was born.
- 1935 - Johnny Byrne was born.
- 1963 - On Wednesday the Programme Review board decided to repeat the first episode of DW: An Unearthly Child immediately before the second episode in order to gain more viewers. This worked, with ratings of 6 million compared to the original broadcast's 4.4 million.[source needed]
- 1965 - "Devil's Planet", Episode 3 of DW: The Daleks' Master Plan was first broadcast.
