In the 52nd century, receives a letter from the Doctor, asking her to meet him in America 2011. She subsequently escapes Stormcage with ease, evidently contemptuous of the facility's ability to contain her-- as indicated by a guard's command that the facility be brought to maximum alert simply because "She's doing it again... She's packing." (DW: The Impossible Astronaut) After they defeated The Silence's occupation of Earth, the Doctor returned River to Stormcage. (DW: Day of the Moon)
In 5145, River once again made an escape from Stormcage to warn the Doctor about the Pandorica opening and the TARDIS exploding after receiving a call from Winston Churchill which the TARDIS redirected to Storm Cage. (DW: The Pandorica Opens)
Some time later, River was later released under the custody of Father Octavian, who needed her assistance in a mission involving Weeping Angels as she could provide the equivalent of an army in the Doctor.
