Nancy was a young woman between the age of nineteen and twenty-one, who lived in London during the London Blitz.
Biography
Nancy took it upon herself to look after children who had been evacuated during the London Blitz, but had returned as strays. She told the Ninth Doctor this was because her younger brother Jamie had died during an air raid. She new about, but would not explain the strange "empty" child walking the streets, wearing a gas mask and asking everyone "Are you my mummy?"
She suggested the Doctor talk to a doctor at Albion Hospital, the hospital nearest Limehouse Green Station where an unexploded bomb had fallen shortly before the child began walking the streets. Nancy later went to the site of the bombing and revealed to the Doctor that the child, Jamie, was not her brother but her son. The Chula nanogenes that had brought the dead Jamie back to life matched Nancy and her son's DNA, returning Jamie and the other infected humans to normal. (DW: The Empty Child / The Doctor Dances)
