The Missing Years was a documentary containing footage from missing episodes from William Hartnell's and Patrick Troughton's time as the Doctor. Presented by Frazer Hines and Deborah Watling, it was released on home video by BBC Video in 1998 and contained footage from several episodes, including:

It has a running time of approximately 33 minutes.

In 2004 it was included in the BBC Video DVD box set Lost in Time. After the initial programme, an addendum produced in 2004 chronicles the discovery of two additional episodes since the original production of the documentary. The DVD packaging for Lost in Time give a run time of 50 minutes for the documentary, when in fact its total running time is only about 37 minutes, including the addendum.
