Quincy Flowers was a mathematician and a frequent patron of the Diabola Club, often visiting with his friends Edmund Carteret and Jasper Jeake. After learning of Carteret's death, he confronted Sir Nikolas Valentine, who had played cards with Jeake the night he died, but claimed innocence regarding his demise. He then played a game with Valentine himself, and was thus marked with one of his homing beacons.
