Edmund Carteret

Edmund Carteret was a wine merchant and a frequent patron of the Diabola Club, often visiting with his friends Quincy Flowers and Jasper Jeake. On the night of 8 March 1702, Carteret played cards with Sir Nikolas Valentine, who marked him with one of his homing beacons. Before the collective unconsciousness of Valentine's previous victims could teleport him away, Carteret, who was fleeing from them, died of fright.
