Amato was a humanoid female in the 24th century and a member of the Federation Starfleet, attached to the Starfleet Corps of Engineers (SCE).
In 2368, she held the rank of lieutenant and was employed in the SCE mining operation on Naia VII. She accompanied Captain Ochoa when he met with Commander William Riker, Lieutenant Commander Data and Lieutenant Worf of the USS Enterprise on a tour of the mine works.
