The third incarnation of Romanadvoratrelundar (Romana), was more ruthless than her previous incarnations.

She became War Queen and President of the Nine Gallifreys.

She regenerated knowing that she would need a harder personality for the upcoming War with The Enemy. As a result she became less friendly towards the Doctor.

Her ultimate fate following the Last Great Time War remains unclear, with the ninth and tenth incarnations of the Doctor under the belief that, with the anomalous exception of The Master (DW: Utopia, DW: The Sound of Drums, DW: Last of the Time Lords), all other Time Lords and Gallifreyans were killed in the resolution of the war.

Behind the scenes
