On 11 April 1865. Abraham Lincoln gave his final public address in the wake of the end of the American Civil War. (PROSE: Blood and Hope) Four days latyer, the Sixth Doctor and Evelyn Smythe travelled to the city to fix history changes made by Robert Knox, including Lincoln's assassination. In 1951, after being sequestered by intelligence agencies, the Eighth Doctor found himself needing to report to people in Washington, not long after visiting Moscow in Russia.
