A second series has been confirmed. It will be comprised of six stories, each consisting of two, 30-minute episodes. Nicholas Courtney, playing Sir Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart will return in at least one story, along with the Sontarans in the same episode who are the first classic series Doctor Who monsters to appear in The Sarah Jane Adventures.
