  • 04 - The Moonbase Episode 4 First Broadcast. Last use of the opening credits sequence and theme arrangement introduced in 1963.
  • 11 - The Macra Terror Episode 1 First Broadcast, introducing a new title sequence that for the first time shows the Doctor's face; a new logo for the series is also introduced, along with a new arrangement of the Doctor Who theme with added echo; with some adjustments, this arrangement would remain in use until 1980.
- John Barrowman, who plays companion Jack Harkness, is born in Glasgow, Scotland.
