- The events of stories in Series 1 are referred to. Maria mentions the The Bane, the Slitheen, Kudlak, the Graske and The Trickster, while Alan refers to the moon coming towards Earth (SJA:The Lost Boy).

Discontinuity, Plot Holes, Errors
- There is no indication of where this story fits in with The Stolen Earth / Journey's End - no references to the Daleks or Davros are made, and Mr Smith's reset is treated as having happened recently. Maria was briefly mentioned in The Stolen Earth by Luke as being on holiday in Cornwall.
- To add further confusion to where this story lies in relation to DW:The Stolen Earth / Journeys End, Chrissie Jackson is incredulous about the existence of aliens. Which she wouldn't be after experiencing the Daleks pulling Earth across the universe.(As in Doomsday the Government probably made a cover story for this event.)
