The Cannibalists was the sixth release of the third series of Big Finish Productions' The New Eighth Doctor Adventures audio stories.
Publisher's summary
The Haven hangs in space. A vast star city, devoid of life. Organic life, that is.
From their high spire, looking out over silent streets and empty plazas, the Assemblers are waiting for the day when the humans arrive. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting...

References
- Lucie describes the Cannibalists as a cross between a biker gang and a cutlery drawer.
- The Cannibalists think the Doctor is some sort of menial grade drone covered in some strange fabric insulation, with a "disgusting" liquid vascular system and a padded outer layer.
- The Assemblers think Lucie is not a human being because she has a distinct lack of facial hair growth, truncated height and has unorthodox protrusions.
- The Doctor can understand the hexadecimal machine code used by Servo in his poetry.
- Lucie has watched a lot of Star Trek.
Notes
- This audio drama was recorded on 22 October 2008 at The Moat Studios.
Continuity
- In PROSE: The Pirate Loop, the Tenth Doctor and Martha Jones also arrive in a place populated only by robots waiting for the humans to arrive.
- Minerva recognises the Doctor as an "organic approximating human form", and detects that he contains "human genetic content". (TV: Doctor Who)
