The Keys of Baker Street was the third story in the audio anthology Stranded 4, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written by Roy Gill and featured Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor, Nicola Walker as Liv Chenka, Hattie Morahan as Helen Sinclair, Rebecca Root as Tania Bell, Tom Price as Andy Davidson and Colin Baker as the Curator.

Homing in on the root of the problem, the Doctor attempts a risky solution – and disaster strikes. Soon, 107 Baker Street is all that's left of reality, as the residents climb the floors to face their destiny.

  • The Doctor mentions Brewster.
  • The Doctor comments he keeps running into "the worst" of his old school friends.
  • The Doctor disapproves of the Curator being meddlesome and cryptic, stating he's surprised the Curator isn't also Scottish.
  • Tania mentions the version of the Curator who gave her her key as being "all bowties and elbows."
  • Andy says the rapidly vanishing house reminds him of the Nothing from The NeverEnding Story and how he always cried when the horse was swallowed up.


  • The title of this audio story calls back to TV: The Keys of Marinus [+]Loading...["The Keys of Marinus (TV story)"], a First Doctor serial from season 1. Like in Marinus, all the keys must be used together in order to resolve the central plot.


  • Tania's description of the Curator matches the Eleventh Doctor. Whilst in a form resembling the Fourth Doctor, the Curator had confided to the Eleventh Doctor that the faces they revisited would be "just the old favourites", to which the younger Doctor shot a knowing wink.
