The Sky is Falling! was a Doctor Who Adventures comic strip published in 2012. It featured the Eleventh Doctor along with Amy Pond and Rory Williams.

Summary

The Doctor, Amy Pond and Rory Williams are on the planet Diobath, dodging the falling blocks of sky around them. A sonic screwdriver scan reveals them to be great, big, heavy lumps of nothing. It's not long until they are pursued into the woods by a Gorolox.

In the woods they are led to safety by Mersal and Kilo, two natives who take them to their underground safe house. The safe house has long-forgotten technology from which the Doctor learns Diobath was an experimental planet run by the Sierra Logistica Company. They specialised in artificial environments. The company had since gone bust and the equipment maintaining the artificial environment is breaking down. The falling sky is chunks of the bio-dome crumbling away.

The bullying forces of the Gorolox are threatened by the even bigger and more bullying forces of the Omwanar League, their mortal enemies. The Goroloxes believe the Doctor has called upon them to clear up the mess.

He hasn’t but as the Gorolox flee, the Doctor, having fixed the machine, leaves Mersal and Kilo to live peacefully again without fear of plundering forces.

References

  • The sonic screwdriver is used to scan the blocks of falling sky.
  • The sonic screwdriver was unable to scan the fallen chunks of the sky/bio-dome because it was anatomically neutral.
  • The Doctor already knows of the Gorolox.
