On 19 September, the following important behind-the-scenes events were known to have occurred:
- 1963 - The first filming session for the very first Doctor Who story, An Unearthly Child, took place. It was a one-day shoot at Ealing Studios of the last few seconds of episode one, depicting a caveman casting his shadow over the Doctor's TARDIS.[note 1]
- 2011 - Episode two of The Underwater Menace was recovered.
