On 7 October, the following important behind-the-scenes events were known to have occurred:
- 1994 - Writer Robert deLaurentis submitted the first draft of his version of the storyline for the 1996 TV movie, adapted from John Leekley's 24 August script. In this new adaptation, the Doctor finds out that his father is involved in a plot to assassinate Adolph Hitler, and meets up with him a half a century later. He completed a draft script based on this storyline on 17 December.
